What is the role responsible for? We’re looking for a Tier 2 Cyber Security Analyst to join our fast-paced and supportive Security Operations Centre (SOC) team. You'll play a vital role in detecting and resolving security incidents for our customers. You will collaborate closely with your teammates and stay ahead of emerging threats. Whether you’re deep-diving into technical investigations, supporting more junior analysts, or helping customers understand how to improve their security, you’ll be part of a team that protects, empowers and grows together.

What will you be doing day-to-day?

  • Monitor and analyse security alerts using SIEM and other tools, investigating threats and supporting escalations from Tier 1 Analysts.
  • Proactively identify anomalous behaviour and carry out threat hunts to uncover potential risks.
  • Research and document new vulnerability disclosures, helping communicate insights clearly across the business and to customers.
  • Triage, escalate, and resolve security incidents; making sure customers receive timely updates and support.
  • Provide guidance to customers and internal teams in a way that's clear, collaborative, and easy to understand.
  • Support security tool tuning and development of new use cases to improve proactive threat detection.
  • Keep clear records of investigations, actions and outcomes in line with our processes.
  • Contribute to knowledge-sharing and process improvement across the SOC.
  • Stay up to date with the latest cyber security trends, tools and techniques and share your insights with the team.

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience working in a SOC or similar security operations environment.
  • Know your way around tools like SIEM, firewalls, endpoint protection, IDS/IPS, antivirus etc.
  • Understand networking principles (TCP/IP, OSI model, common ports, VPNs).
  • Confident investigating incidents and writing clear, actionable reports.
  • Understand best practices in cloud security (especially hybrid environments).
  • Know the common frameworks like ISO 27001, PCI DSS, NIST, GDPR.
  • Be collaborative, solution-focused, and genuinely enjoy supporting others.
  • Strong communication skills, especially when simplifying technical language.
  • Curious, proactive, and enjoy learning and adapting in a fast-moving industry.
  • Degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science or similar.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA CySA+, CEH, Microsoft SC-200.

Due to the sensitivity of the role, you will also need to go through and pass security clearance.

A few things to note:

  • Shift Pattern: 24/7/365 rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays (5 days on, 3 days off; 5 days on, 3 days off; 5 days on, 4 days off).
  • Location: Must be within a reasonable commuting distance to our Glasgow office as we will expect you to work hybrid (3-days).
  • Travel: Occasional travel for industry events and other company offices.
  • We require all candidates to be eligible to work in the UK and pass a basic DBS check.
