What you'll do: As an Enterprise Architect at Sainsbury's, you will play a critical role in tackling complex technology problems within the retail industry. To deliver our high priority initiatives we need solutions that cross many parts of our technology estate, from our customer‑facing sales systems, through our supply‑chain and logistics systems and into our commercial and finance systems. We need our Enterprise Architects to understand the end‑to‑end impact, develop value streams to bring to life the key insights and design decisions that we face and work closely with our other stakeholders across product and engineering to move solutions into delivery. This role will focus on our customer and loyalty domain and the impacts that innovation in this space will have on our wider technology estate. We expect you to own solving problems and be a great communicator to bring people along with you. You will be guided by our Sainsbury’s technology principles, north stars and strategies and will be a champion in promoting their value and ensuring we are doing the right thing for Sainsbury’s and our customers.

Who you are: As an Enterprise Architect for Sainsbury's Tech, you are a highly experienced and influential professional with a proven track record creating high level solutions in a large and complex enterprise estate. You will have experience in using and developing architecture models and tools across business, data, application and technology architecture. You will be a confident communicator and are able to effectively facilitate groups of colleagues to align on a solution. You will have the ability to condense complex technology choices into digestible decisions and influence stakeholders at all levels. Your curiosity, adaptability, and ability to think and plan make you a valuable asset in navigating the rapidly evolving tech industry and shaping the future landscape of Sainsbury's multi‑brand, multi‑channel organisation.

Essential Criteria:

  • A track record of delivering technology transformation by developing influential architecture artefacts (Designs, Decision Records, Transitional Architectures etc.) and can demonstrate the value that they have added.
  • Solid understanding of retail technology and the key functionality that goes into a loyalty platform.
  • Experience working with product, engineering, delivery and architecture teams to deliver enterprise impacting technology transformations.
  • Strong track record of influencing stakeholders at director/senior management level.
