As an Engineering Manager in our OCX (Online Customer Experience) vertical, you'll lead high-performing squads building modern, cloud-native services that power our web and mobile ecommerce experience, shaping the next phase of our digital transformation.

Location: This is a hybrid role based in London or Nuneaton, with the requirement to be in the office as and when required (Quarterlies and team gatherings).

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead one or more engineering squads, owning delivery, technical architecture, and people development.
  • Evolve a scalable, reliable platform using modern, distributed, cloud-native patterns (microservices, containers, CI/CD).
  • Partner with Product and Tech leaders to define and deliver against clear roadmaps, KPIs, and customer-focused outcomes.
  • Champion engineering excellence: clean code, robust testing, automation, and continuous improvement.
  • Recruit, mentor, and grow engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, accountability, and innovation aligned to our EPIC values.
  • Communicate roadmap, progress, and risks clearly to stakeholders and collaborate across squads to manage dependencies.

Skills and experience:

  • 3+ years managing engineering teams (8+ people), delivering complex software at scale.
  • Strong development background in JavaScript, Java or Kotlin, with experience of microservices, Docker/Kubernetes, and cloud platforms.
  • Solid understanding of agile ways of working, DevOps practices, testing, CI/CD, and automated deployments.
  • Proven ability to coach and inspire teams, operate strategically and hands-on, and lead through change and ambiguity.

  • Technical round - Programming / system design - 90 minutes
  • Final Head of Engineering - 30 minutes
