This Systems Engineering vacancy presents an exciting opportunity to be part of the Captor Radar Mark 2 Systems Test Solution (STS) team. The role is that of Principal Systems Engineer, where you will be an integral part of the Engineering team that is designing, integrating, testing and delivering the latest cutting‑edge Captor Radar Test Equipment, hosted both in the Edinburgh Rooflab environment and offsite Customer facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • System & Sub‑system Requirements capture, flow down, verification and validation.
  • Heavily involved in the Life Cycle Management aspect of the project.
  • Assist with PDR, CDR and TRR preparation and delivery, whilst ensuring the company processes are adhered to and all TCU records are kept up to date.
  • Regular reporting into the STS PEL, providing technical updates on a regular basis.

What you’ll bring:

  • Degree qualified or relevant work experience in given field.
  • Strong and diverse Engineering background.
  • Solid knowledge of the full design life cycle process, including V&V principles.
  • Ideally has experience of Cameo Systems Modeler and DOORS tools, working in an Agile environment.
  • Ability to work with and influence others in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • Ability to make informed decisions based on obtaining information from the relevant technical sources.
  • An excellent and confident communicator and presenter, with the ability to engage with and influence multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively manage own time, potentially across multiple activities.
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Travel within the UK & Europe, if required.

Security Clearance:

This role is subject to pre‑employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
