Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform Functional Consultant
As a Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform Functional Consultant, you will bridge the gap between IT capability and business expectations on Microsoft Dynamics projects.
You will collaborate with clients to design and build solutions based on Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform, including the use of AI features, to deliver benefits for them and their customers.
You will work closely with key stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective Dynamics 365 solutions, playing a key role in the design and delivery of Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform solutions to ensure they meet business needs.
You may be asked to lead one or more functional consultants within small to moderate sized and complex projects, identify priorities, assign tasks, and manage resources.
You will build relationships with counterparts in other disciplines across the project, contribute to the successful management of dependencies, and help to deliver discovery workshops, create functional designs, configure solutions, support testing, assist with data migration, deliver training, and support implementation.
Putting people first & developing others: you may manage, coach, and develop one or two junior colleagues, focusing on performance management and career development, supporting a culture of wellbeing and inclusion, and ensuring team members manage workload and stress effectively.
Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities to make best use of the ever‑expanding platform features.
- Balance the benefits and risks of customisation.
- Recommend the best approach to support client needs.
- Help deliver discovery workshops, create functional designs, configure solutions, support testing, assist with data migration, deliver training, and support implementation.
- Lead one or more functional consultants and manage project resources.
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and other disciplines.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Microsoft Dynamics and Power Platform products, with in‑depth knowledge of at least two of: Sales, Customer Service, Customer Insights, Field Service, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Copilot Studio, and Power BI.
- Understanding of AI features within Microsoft Dynamics CE and Power Platform and how to deliver value to business users.
- Familiarity with related Microsoft products (Exchange, Share Point, Teams) and the ability to configure integrations.
- End‑to‑end implementation experience, especially on medium to high size and/or complexity projects, covering analysis, design, configuration, testing, training, data migration, cutover, and reporting.
- Ability to create and influence solution designs with a configuration‑first approach, minimise customisation, and propose options for changes.
- Demonstration of out‑of‑the‑box functionality to stakeholders.
- Proficiency in designing and building classic and Power Automate workflows to automate medium‑complexity tasks.
- Stakeholder engagement and communication experience, including interviewing, shadowing, discovery workshops, and business process mapping.

- Teach others how to convert business requirements into user stories with acceptance criteria.
- Self‑motivated research and knowledge sharing.
- Collaboration, timely issue flagging, and peer support.
- Experience with Dev Ops for managing Epics, Features, User Stories, and Tasks.
