Our Capability Development team develops bespoke software for our clients in the Cyber Security domain. We may be building assured software that prioritises engineering rigour and reliability, rapid cyber solutions that stitch together tooling for high-impact results, or blended operational systems that address real-world challenges in the field. Common to all is commitment to technically led decisions, to meaningful technical challenge, and to engaging career paths where your work makes it off the shelf and into the hands of our customers. All of our roles demand strong technical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering robust, dependable solutions that our clients can rely on when it matters most.
While our core engineers build these tools, our Field Engineers ensure they actually succeed where it matters most: in the hands of our customers. We are looking for a technically driven professional who thrives on the challenge of getting products over the line and into live environments. You will be the critical link between our development environments and the field, bridging the gap between rapid prototyping and long-term operational stability. If you have a passion for real-world problem solving and want to drive the success of mission-critical software through its entire lifecycle, this role is for you. We are keen to hire candidates with existing SC clearance.
What you'll do:
- Leading the deployment and implementation of both rapid prototypes and fully assured products in live operational environments.
- Serving as the primary technical liaison between field users/customers and our larger engineering teams to ensure seamless communication.
- Troubleshooting complex software and system issues on-site, providing tailored resolution to maintain mission continuity.
- Driving long-term product success by gathering critical user feedback and translating it into actionable requirements for our development teams.
- Managing the post-delivery lifecycle of products, ensuring that updates, patches, and new capabilities are successfully integrated into existing systems.
- Acting as a technical advocate in the field to ensure our solutions meet both rigorous engineering standards and practical operational needs.
Desirable Skills
- Proven experience in technical support, field engineering, or systems integration within high-stakes environments.
- A strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and how post-delivery feedback drives product evolution.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both non-technical end-users and highly specialized software engineers.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting varied software architectures, such as embedded systems or mobile operating systems.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to work autonomously under limited guidelines in unpredictable field conditions.
- Familiarity with continuous integration and automated testing processes, enabling you to validate fixes before they reach the customer.
This vacancy is for experienced engineers and will require skills and experience in several of the areas listed.
