As a Windows Server Infrastructure Engineer Expert, your main objective is to supervise, manage and administer all kinds of Windows Servers within the AXA Group on a global level. Your responsibilities include:
- Undertake project activities, including certain and optional tech lead functions.
- Pro-actively drive further evolution and optimization of the Windows Server environment.
- Enhance and enrich automation capabilities to optimize day-to-day operational business support (using Dev-Ops tool stack and future AI-Ops technologies).
- Tech Lead and supervise local and Asia or EU region oriented specific infrastructure regulation aspects within the Windows Server scope.
- Act as leading instance working in a global Windows OS Product Team environment.
- Work closely with Build Engineers being part of our Global Team on Windows Server Evolution and transformation.
- Optimize Windows Server Platform Management either local or public Cloud Datacenter oriented (AXA POD, Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS).
- Control Incident, Problem and Change Management aspects driven out of Windows OS Team.
- Windows Server OS advanced troubleshooting (high Windows OS Server skill).
- End-to-end industrialization of Windows Server image creation across diverse environments, including On-Premises (VMWare), Azure and AWS.
- Be the trusted advisor for Windows Server In-Place upgrade activities towards market customer and supporting teams: developing automation for recurrent tasks and contributing for strategic ideas.
- Support on any kind of projects oriented task like Server migrations, re-hosting (move to cloud), Server refresh or Server provisioning.
We are looking for someone with the following experience and skills:
- Technical skills
- Senior and Advanced Windows Server Engineer / Expert / Administrator.
- Good understanding of current and legacy Windows Server OS Versions (W2k8 – W2k25).
- Windows image building knowledge with Hashicorp Packer tools for VMware on-premise, Azure (AIB), and AWS (EC2 Image Builder).
- Experience with Windows Server Patch Management technologies like WSUS.
- Knowledge of Server Software Packaging procedures (e.g., Chocolatey).
- Understanding of datacenter layers and components: Virtualization (VMware ESX), Hardware Management, Active Directory Management, Network and Firewall protocols.
- Familiarity with hybrid technology modes, especially Azure Arc for ESU management.
- Good understanding of security, compliance, and server hardening concepts (GPO Management).
- DevOps & Automation Skills
- Improving global productivity through automated solutions with PowerShell.
- Knowledge of DevOps methodologies and tools: Puppet Enterprise, Terraform, Github, Artifactory.
- Experience with AWS CloudFormation and Terraform.
- Knowledge about Server Software Packaging procedures (like Chocolatey).
- Emerging Technologies & Future-Oriented Skills
- Interest in AI-Ops solutions for operational support and business optimization.
- Ability to embrace emerging technologies.
- Soft skills / transversal skills
- Fluent in English; comfortable working in multicultural, distributed environments.
- Autonomous and proactive in managing complex situations.
- Effective in Agile frameworks (using Jira, participating in ceremonies).
- Strong communicator; responsible for writing technical procedures in Confluence and leading knowledge transfer sessions.
