Job overview

We’re seeing a detail-oriented Product Owner with experience in digital product delivery, React development and online customer journeys to join the Sales Online Team in AXA Health on a 12 month fixed term contract.

In this role, you'll act as the tactical execution lead for a well-defined product area, working closely within a dedicated squad to deliver against prioritised backlog items and sprint goals.

You’ll ensure smooth agile ceremonies, coordinate daily activities, and collaborate with Product Managers to deliver on the product roadmap

Key responsibilities

  • Own and manage the product backlog, making sure it’s well-defined, refined and ready for delivery.
  • Lead agile ceremonies like sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives to keep the delivery on track and resolve blockers.
  • Coordinate day-to-day squad activities, ensuring they align with sprint goals and commitments.
  • Support Product Managers in tracking progress against plans and delivery milestones.
  • Gather and incorporate stakeholder and user feedback to inform backlog prioritisation and product improvements.
  • Monitor dashboards, usage metrics and operational trends to spot areas for improvement.
  • Suggest and implement enhancements to product features or delivery processes based on observations and feedback.
  • Keep clear, concise documentation of features, stories and acceptance criteria to maintain transparency.
  • Lead regular playbacks of progress to wider stakeholder and senior leadership groups whilst also playing an active role in Quarterly planning sessions.

Work arrangements

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers.

You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future.

Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events.

Your skills & experience

  • Experience as a Product Owner within an agile environment.
  • Skills in backlog management, facilitating agile ceremonies and cross-team coordination using tools like JIRA and Confluence.
  • Hands‑on experience working with React engineers or in a React‑based digital environment.
  • Background in online digital optimisation, front‑end development and creating or maintaining online customer journeys.
  • Experience in sales, lead acquisition, or digital commerce, with a clear understanding of the entire customer journey from click‑to‑lead, quote, and purchase.
  • Knowledge of AB testing, performance reviews and analytics related to online customer behaviour.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders with an awareness of regulatory or compliance requirements.
  • Proactive in identifying risks, issues and opportunities for process and product improvements, with a keen interest in developing product management skills, strategy and roadmap planning.
