About the role
Partners are at the heart of BT Consumer’s strategy, driving P&L objectives through trading activities, marketing support, and innovative collaborations in hardware, software, and content. The Partnerships division acts as the single-entry point for all managed partners across Mobile, Tech, and Gaming, providing expertise in relationship management, commercial negotiation, and strategic planning. As Partnerships Commercial Manager, you will take full ownership of specific partners or product categories, managing end-to-end commercial performance, negotiations, and business planning. This includes monitoring sales, ensuring availability, driving profitable reinvestment, and collaborating with Finance, Trading, Supply Chain, and Marketing teams. Reporting to the Partnerships Principal for Android you will be accountable for delivering category P&L targets and shaping long-term growth strategies through data-driven insights and strong stakeholder engagement.
What you’ll be doing
- Act as the primary point of contact for managed partners, ensuring consistent communication and alignment across BT Consumer and partner organisations.
- Develop and maintain annual business plans and category roadmaps, including KPI tracking, full-year outlooks, and adjustments to meet trading targets.
- Lead quarterly and ad hoc commercial negotiations, securing sign-off for high-value deals and defining commercial ambitions for major launches and bespoke initiatives.
- Implement agreed pricing and promotional strategies through cross-functional teams, ensuring flawless execution and conducting post-implementation reviews.
- Monitor sales performance, availability, and market share using data insights; provide actionable recommendations to maximise volume and value opportunities and shape partner messaging for business reviews.
- Collaborate with Finance, Trading, Supply Chain, and Marketing teams to ensure accurate forecasting, stock availability, and compliance with partner marketing guidelines, including merchandising and launch execution.
- Drive growth by identifying and unlocking new categories, innovative products, and service revenue streams aligned with BT’s strategic objectives, recommending devices and initiatives based on partner innovation or exclusivity.
Essential Skills / Experience
- Strong commercial acumen with proven responsibility for driving revenue, margin and P&L performance in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrable experience in high‑value, complex commercial negotiations, including pricing, terms and in‑quarter optimisation.
- Hands‑on experience in buying, trading or direct commercial ownership, delivering immediate impact.
- Proven end‑to‑end partner management, acting as a single commercial interface and owning performance outcomes.
- Ability to operate effectively within a matrixed organisation, influencing senior stakeholders across Trading, Finance, Supply Chain and Marketing.
- Experience within mobile, consumer electronics, tech or gaming sectors.
Desirable Skills / Experience
- Exposure to OEM or strategic partner models, including device or platform partners.
- Understanding of retail trading rhythms, promotional cycles and market dynamics.
- Experience supporting new product launches (NPI) or category roadmaps.
- Prior experience in a large‑scale consumer organisation.
