Reporting directly to the EHS Manager, you will provide specialist EHS support to the Redditch plant, ensuring compliance with legislative and corporate requirements and maintaining the EHS Management System to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards. You will drive continuous improvement in health, safety, welfare and sustainability, while supporting new projects and maintaining EHS excellence across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Deputise for the EHS Manager in their absence.
- Encourage a positive safety culture across the facility.
- Provide specialist advice and support to the management team, supervisors on health, safety and environmental matters.
- Assist the EHS Manager in analysing trends and implementing solutions in safety, environment, sustainability and ergonomics.
- Work towards achieving site EHS targets published annually, with an aim of zero harm.
- Continually develop and maintain the EHS Management System.
- Coordinate incident management through timely reporting and investigation of accidents, incidents, near‑misses and hazard observations.
- Identify risk reduction opportunities through planning and performing risk assessments, audits and workplace inspections.
- Provide individual training, coaching and mentoring.
- Promote a positive safety culture, sharing and standardising best practice.
- Support data collation and timely reporting for corporate and other reporting requirements.
- Support accident and near‑miss investigations (8D) and ensure root causes are addressed with corrective actions.
- Participate in new program and launch reviews to ensure EHS considerations are discussed early in the design process.
- Facilitate and attend EHS Committee meetings monthly.
- Implement EHS safety campaigns and initiatives in accordance with the EHS scorecard.
- Maintain plant health, safety and environmental improvement plans, ensuring actions are closed out timely.
- Lead visual management of EHS across the plant involving employees.
- Manage visitor and contractor risk assessments, method statements, liability insurance and relevant training.
- Ensure Lear Corporate Directives are fully implemented and reporting requirements met.
- Track and update all EHS data, including energy performance.
- Ensure site ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 OHS Management Systems are maintained.
- Support internal and external ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 audits.
- Coordinate OHS and environmental risk assessments.
- Lead Ergonomic Team and complete assessments on ergonomic software.
- Deliver required environmental, health and safety training for all employees, including ISOPA training.
- Ensure compliance with EHS legal requirements.
- Assist in developing and implementing emergency response plans and procedures.
Key Skills & Qualifications

- Excellent literacy and verbal & written communication skills, with ability to deliver effective training and interface at all levels.
- Effective communication across all organizational levels.
- Experience in manufacturing, preferably with knowledge of automation, assembly and ergonomics.

- NEBOSH General Certificate.
