Mai Sushi are recruiting a Full Time Assistant Chef Manager to come and join our Mai Sushi - Chester, Foregate Street, Chester, CH1 1HP. £13.16 - £14.16 depending on experience.

If you are:

  • Enthusiastic, energetic with the ability to demonstrate initiative

  • Able to work as part of a team or on your own whilst maintaining high standards at all times
  • Excited to produce amazing high quality and sustainable food products

And have:

  • Experience in leading a small team, who can build confidence and capability in your teams enabling them to succeed
  • Ready to work in a fast-paced environment whilst always leading by example
  • Pride in your work, constantly looking for ways to improve and continually learning
  • A good understanding of Food Safety & Health and Safety regulations, ability to follow brand standards and comply with company policies
  • Reliable transportation for your commute to work early in the morning

And are able to:

  • Be accountable for the team in the Chef Manager's absence, whilst maintaining audit standards for food and health & safety compliance while meeting EHO expectations
  • Ensure the team maintains a high standard of cleanliness and food safety on site to maintain a safe environment for our customers, our clients and ourselves
  • Be highly organised, with a focus on forward planning
  • Prepare fresh ingredients by hand, including meat and raw fish products each shift
  • Accurately label products ensuring lawful compliance around food safety and allergen compliance each shift
  • Be a skilled multitasker
  • An early riser as shifts can start at 6am some days
  • Learn new skills or improve skills already mastered

Qualifications: Level 2 Food Safety certificate, HACCP, Allergens and COSHH are desirable although not essential as full training will be provided. Great organisational skills, attention to detail and focus on quality are a must.
