About us:
Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice is in the heart of Headingley, Leeds. We provide expert palliative care at a time when people need this the most. We support you when you are living with a life-limiting condition, and also help your loved ones and family.
We support people aged 18 and over who are living with life-limiting conditions such as cancer, heart failure and lung disease by combining specialist medical care for managing pain and other symptoms with other emotional, practical and spiritual support.
We are able to provide care in our inpatient unit and our CNS team are on hand to visit people and provide care for people in their own home.
About the Role:
Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice is looking for an experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to join and support our friendly team.
**This will include some weekend working on a rota basis (alternate weekends).**
This is a great opportunity to use your housekeeping and leadership skills at the Hospice. The role has lots of variety.
Some Duties and responsibilities below:
Responsible to ensure all areas are cleaned to the local and national standards, and that work of the laundry is organised efficiently, unless outsourced
Responsible for supplies being ordered and checking for accuracy and quality. To assist in managing all clinical and other waste
To observe and record any damage or fault with equipment, furniture, clothing or other goods belonging to the Service or service user
To record that all processes comply with relevant standards
Responsible to ensure that preferences of service users are regularly sought and acted upon in delivering services
About you
You will have an NVQ 2 in an appropriate field or equivalent experience.
Demonstrable ability in supervising others (Essential)
Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Able to work within policies and procedures and Behavioral Framework
Previous experience in domestic or housekeeping work
Basic IT skills (Essential)
