As a Senior/Principal Python Engineer , you’ll be working on advanced systems that optimise workflows and automate repetitive tasks, ultimately driving productivity across all production disciplines, from modelling and rigging to rendering and cloud-based operations. Key Responsibilities : Architect and design scalable, efficient production pipelines for VFX, animation, modelling, rigging, and rendering. Lead the development of the AYON pipeline framework and integrate it seamlessly with other DCC tools and render management systems like Deadline . Oversee the operation of render farms, automating task submission workflows and optimising rendering pipelines for maximum efficiency. Collaborate closely with artists, technical directors, and engineers to troubleshoot bottlenecks and implement solutions that improve production workflows. Automate repetitive tasks to streamline processes, improving productivity from asset creation to final rendering. Ensure version control practices across the pipeline using Perforce or Git , maintaining data integrity and smooth team collaboration. Work with cloud-based infrastructure to enhance rendering workflows and asset management across virtual platforms. Lead the integration of CI/CD pipelines, automating deployment and testing to improve pipeline performance and scalability. Stay on top of industry trends, bringing the latest technologies and best practices to continually evolve pipeline systems Skills & Qualifications : 5+ years of experience in pipeline development Extensive experience with pipeline frameworks, particularly AYON or similar open-source systems. Proficiency in Python for tool development and workflow automation. Strong background in DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines for automating production processes. Proven ability to solve complex technical challenges in a fast-paced production environment. Excellent collaboration skills, working with both technical and creative teams to align on production requirements. Knowledge of cloud-based workflows and experience in rendering pipelines on cloud platforms.
