The job
An integral role in this small business, as Estimator you will hold overall responsibility for all pricing and tendering activities on projects from £500k-£3.5m+. You will be supported by an established and well-oiled team including the MD, Construction Manager, and a QS, as well as having access to external estimators for overflow.
Although the business is very well established and thriving, this is a new role for the company, and you will be afforded the opportunity to really take ownership of the function as the business continues to grow. There is also the potential to become a key part of the senior leadership of the business, along with the commensurate rewards, in the future.
What you\’ll need
- Experienced Estimator, preferably with a background in high-end residential projects
- A quantity surveying qualification an advantage but not essential
- Knowledge of and interest in historic building restoration an advantage
- Proven ability to price work up to £3.5m in value
- Excelling communication and team working skills
- Strategic & financial analysis skills
- A pro-active approach to positively represent the business, with a passion towards construction and conservation/heritage work
- A hands-on mentality, with the ability to adapt to different situations in assisting colleagues and the rest of the team.
- A Full UK driving licence due to the location

The offices are near Bury St Edmunds, close to the A14.
