The Role As our HSE Manager, you’ll be the go-to expert for all things health, safety, and environmental. You’ll lead initiatives that protect our people and planet, ensuring compliance with UK legislation and ISO standards. You’ll work closely with teams across the site to embed a “Safety First” culture and drive continuous improvement. RESPONSIBILITIES As our HSE Manager, you’ll play a vital role in shaping a safe and sustainable workplace. Your responsibilities will include: Championing a “Safety First” culture by engaging and inspiring colleagues across all departments. Monitoring and enforcing adherence to Group Health & Safety policies. Maintaining accurate safety records and ensuring timely reporting of incidents and near misses. Supporting managers in investigating accidents and identifying root causes. Providing clear safety statistics on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Taking decisive action to stop unsafe operations or equipment use when necessary. Ensuring compliance with risk assessments, Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), hazardous substances, work equipment, and manual handling procedures. Tracking environmental performance against accreditation standards and legal requirements. Delivering engaging safety training, working with internal teams and external providers to ensure quality and relevance. Conducting regular safety audits and inspections to identify and resolve risks. Reporting findings to leadership and recommending practical solutions. Staying informed on evolving legislation relevant to the corrugated packaging industry.
