Job Summary: Due to increased demand and ambitious growth plans, our client is seeking experienced Quantity Surveyors/ Cost Managers to join a dynamic team within a global leading construction consultancy organisation.
- Based in Manchester but Hybrid working (typically 3-days in the office, 2-days working from home per week) although opportunities across the UK are also available – depending on your situation
- Market leader in Digital – heavily investing in their digital capabilities – using Cost X to its full potential, running BIM modelling on most projects and live cost data reporting on projects
The successful candidate will have a strong track record in the Infrastructure sector (Water, Power, Utilities, Rail or Aviation), This is an opportunity to work with high-profile clients, enhance your consultancy expertise, and expand your sector experience.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Management:
- Act as the primary Cost Manager, ensuring project budgets are effectively monitored and controlled.
- Provide accurate cost forecasting, reporting, and monitoring to ensure projects are delivered within budget.
- Identify, manage, and report cost variances, ensuring contract cash flow is accurate and timely.
Contract Administration:
- Administer various contracts, including NEC3 (Option C) and NEC4, in line with project objectives and governance policies.
- Manage contract changes effectively, ensuring best practices are adopted throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure all contractual applications are prepared and submitted correctly and on time.
Collaboration and Delivery:
- Work collaboratively with client and contractor teams to achieve project deliverables and KPIs.
- Contribute to programme performance, cost control, and value engineering initiatives.
- Drive improvements in forecasting and budget accuracy, ensuring alignment with client goals.
Leadership and Best Practices:
- Support the continuous improvement of cost management processes and practices.
- Mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of professional growth and development.
