Cyber Security Engineer

Remote-first (UK) | Occasional onsite work – Β£55 – Β£70k

We\’re partnering with a forward-thinking cybersecurity services provider that helps organisations detect, respond to, and contain advanced threats across modern, cloud-first environments.

They\’re looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to join a highly technical team responsible for deploying, configuring, and supporting security solutions for a diverse customer base. This is a hands-on engineering role with real ownership, customer interaction, and the opportunity to deepen expertise across leading security and cloud technologies.

The Role

As a Cyber Security Engineer, you\’ll work primarily remotely (with occasional onsite engagements) delivering deployment, configuration, and ongoing support of security solutions. You\’ll act as a technical lead during customer engagements, providing guidance, troubleshooting expertise, and enablement to customer teams.

This role suits someone who enjoys building and integrating security solutions, solving complex technical problems, and working directly with customers rather than operating in a purely monitoring-focused SOC environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy, configure, and support security solutions within customer environments
  • Migrate customers from existing technologies to new security platforms
  • Support planned cutovers and maintenance activities, including out-of-hours work where required
  • Analyse logs and telemetry to troubleshoot issues and identify root cause
  • Work closely with vendor and partner technical support teams
  • Manage multiple customer engagements and deliver against agreed scope and timelines
  • Produce high-quality technical documentation, including diagrams and runbooks

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Hands-on experience deploying and supporting cloud, network, and security technologies
  • Strong Python scripting skills, including writing and debugging code
  • Solid understanding of Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems
  • Good knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls)
  • Understanding of identity and access management, such as Entra ID
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain calm under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience working in an MSSP or MDR environment
  • SIEM and/or SOAR deployment and support experience
  • Security operations or incident response background
  • Experience with Azure and Google Cloud
  • AWS experience

Why Apply?

  • Remote-first role with meaningful, hands-on technical work
  • Exposure to a wide range of customer environments and security challenges
  • Opportunity to build deep expertise in modern security platforms
  • Collaborative, supportive engineering culture
  • Clear focus on technical quality, customer outcomes, and professional growth

If you\’re a security engineer who enjoys deployment, automation, and customer-facing technical work, this is an excellent opportunity to take the next step in your career.
