Cyber Security Engineer
Remote-first (UK) | Occasional onsite work β Β£55 β Β£70k
We\βre partnering with a forward-thinking cybersecurity services provider that helps organisations detect, respond to, and contain advanced threats across modern, cloud-first environments.
They\βre looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to join a highly technical team responsible for deploying, configuring, and supporting security solutions for a diverse customer base. This is a hands-on engineering role with real ownership, customer interaction, and the opportunity to deepen expertise across leading security and cloud technologies.
The Role
As a Cyber Security Engineer, you\βll work primarily remotely (with occasional onsite engagements) delivering deployment, configuration, and ongoing support of security solutions. You\βll act as a technical lead during customer engagements, providing guidance, troubleshooting expertise, and enablement to customer teams.
This role suits someone who enjoys building and integrating security solutions, solving complex technical problems, and working directly with customers rather than operating in a purely monitoring-focused SOC environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and support security solutions within customer environments
- Migrate customers from existing technologies to new security platforms
- Support planned cutovers and maintenance activities, including out-of-hours work where required
- Analyse logs and telemetry to troubleshoot issues and identify root cause
- Work closely with vendor and partner technical support teams
- Manage multiple customer engagements and deliver against agreed scope and timelines
- Produce high-quality technical documentation, including diagrams and runbooks
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Hands-on experience deploying and supporting cloud, network, and security technologies
- Strong Python scripting skills, including writing and debugging code
- Solid understanding of Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems
- Good knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls)
- Understanding of identity and access management, such as Entra ID
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain calm under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable
- Experience working in an MSSP or MDR environment
- SIEM and/or SOAR deployment and support experience
- Security operations or incident response background
- Experience with Azure and Google Cloud
- AWS experience
