Are you a highly skilled 3rd Line IT Support Engineer with experience working in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment? Are you ready to take on complex technical challenges, lead client solutions, and support a wide range of modern IT infrastructure? If so, we want to hear from you.
About the Role
We’re looking for a talented and experienced 3rd Line Engineer to join our growing Birmingham-based team. This is a senior technical role where you\’ll handle escalated issues, assist with project delivery, and act as a key technical point of contact for our clients.
You’ll be working across a variety of platforms and environments—supporting everything from on-prem infrastructure to modern cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, excellent customer service, and a solid MSP background.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced (3rd line) technical support across servers, networks, cloud platforms, and end-user systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex IT incidents and service requests
- Act as an escalation point for the 1st and 2nd line teams
- Deploy and support Microsoft 365 and Azure-based solutions
- Maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure – switches, firewalls, routers, VPNs
- Deliver and support IT infrastructure projects (e.g. server migrations, cloud adoption, network upgrades)
- Create and maintain clear documentation of systems, processes, and client environments
- Liaise with vendors and third parties where required to resolve issues or implement solutions
- Visit client sites when necessary to perform installations, upgrades, or troubleshooting
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a 3rd line support role, ideally within an MSP environment
- Strong technical skills across Microsoft technologies including Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Exchange Online, Teams, Intune
- Solid knowledge of Windows Server environments, virtualisation (Hyper-V/VMware), and networking fundamentals
- Hands-on experience with network equipment (switches, firewalls, routers – ideally Cisco, Ubiquiti, or DrayTek)
- Familiarity with backup, disaster recovery and security solutions
- Excellent problem-solving ability and a proactive, can-do attitude
- Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach
- Full UK driving licence
