Strategic Buyer

Responsibilities
· Obtain quotations from existing and new potential new suppliers.
· Initiate and manage tendering activities.
· Negotiate with suppliers regarding all commercial conditions.
· Qualify BOM’s / sourcing requests in collaboration with the business.
· Negotiate and implement agreements with suppliers.
· Perform spend analysis and develop sourcing strategies.
· Provide support to Purchasing team in case of escalations.
· Communicate any difficulties or delays back to the business through agreed channels.
· Pro-actively seek and identify solutions and propose those to business / line manager.
· Escalate any compliance issues to line manager without delay.
· Maintain master data on system(s) and in other locations.
· Source and negotiate in support for new parts introduction.
· Process new supplier / existing supplier change requests.
· Report Supply Chain disruptions.
· Monitor supplier performance.
· Lead projects
· Perform data analysis and/or collect data as required by line manager.
· Take full ownership of the Procurement action plan.
· To perform any other duties as requested.
The Person
· Procurement or supply/chain related qualifications such as CIPS is required.
· Manage and develop strategic Supplier relationships.
· Analyse complex data and develop strategic plans.
· Manage and negotiate contracts.
· Organise and manage competitive tenders.
· Minimum of 3 year’s experience in similar positions.
· Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
· Experience with any major ERP system (Protean knowledge would be ideal).
· Proven stakeholder management skills.
