JSS have partnered with an exciting, PE backed organisation to recruit a Group Category Manager position focusing on Fleet spend.

The role will lead and develop the Category Strategy for Fleet (Commercial & Sales Vehicles) across the Group, working closely with colleagues and suppliers in several key European countries.

As well as focusing on cost, quality and supplier performance, the role will involve supporting the development and implementation of the overall procurement strategy (from policy development to KPI implementation) to bring clear structure to the function.

The role:

  • Work closely with the Procurement Director to develop the function as a whole as well as working with the Regional Leadership and Local Executive Team.
  • Collaborate with functional leaders (Sales, Marketing, Operations) including Country MD\’s to support the growth and renewal requirements for Fleet in addition to leading thinking around Fleet sustainability and electrification.
  • A key focus area will be supplier and cost management as well assessing the optimal supply chain for vans/trucks and repairs/maintenance across Europe.

Your profile:

  • Strong strategic approach combined with hands-on management capability. This will be evidenced by a track record of rolling out new central processes and procurement practices, as well as supporting/executing tailored local projects
  • Where appropriate, have the confidence to challenge the status quo and pro-actively drive improvements in expectations and standards
  • Commitment to excellence, high integrity and strong ethics
  • Strong commercial, planning and negotiation skills
  • Strong communication skills. Able to convey the benefits of a new strategy and instil confidence.
  • Strong influencing skills
  • System and computer literate (Excel, Microsoft office etc); ERP knowledge desirable
  • Change management experience
  • Highly analytical but with bias for action and results. A history of delivery.
  • Project management experience from conception to implementation and control

What’s on offer?

  • £75,000-80,000 salary

  • A location-free role with primarily remote working. Travel to UK offices and across Europe as required
