The security analyst plays a vital role in keeping our organization’s proprietary and sensitive information secure by investigating security alerts from a wide range of security toolsets.
The successful candidate will provide support to the Senior Security Operations Manager by validating information and cyber security controls are implemented, effective and appropriate to protect the information assets of EMIS Group.
The role (What you will DO and the IMPACT you will have)
- Monitor email, computer networks, servers, and workstations for security issues via a wide variety of security toolsets as part of a 24/7 SOC team, SIEM Tool: Google Chronicle
- Investigate security alerts and identify false positives or investigate and drive through to resolution with a variety of stakeholders
- Identification and escalation of Critical security incidents to senior team members 24/7/365
- Collect and analyze toolset alerting, log data and forensic artefacts to identify security risks or compromised systems.
- Research new and emerging threats to gain insight and understanding of the evolving threat landscape for toolset tuning and threat hunting.
- Investigate & document security breaches and other cyber security incidents to determine root cause.
- Stay current on IT security trends and news.
- Provide support for penetration and purple team testing.
- Research security enhancements and make recommendations to management.
- Help monitor and improve security controls, within EMIS.
- Collect data for group wide security and compliance metrics reporting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Experience in AWS including security in public and private cloud.
- Knowledge of the primary AWS services such as EC2, ELB, RDS, VPC, Route53 and S3.
- Knowledge of the primary Azure services such as VMs, Storage Accounts, SQL, Resources and Resource Groups, Key Vault
- Background in distributed systems, networking, or IT security.
- High-level understanding of SIEM, next-generation AV, network monitoring tools and proxy servers
- An understanding of vulnerability scanning tools and reporting
- Experience in security incident investigation and response activities
- Continuous process and technology improvement mindset
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Previous cyber security experience in a security operations environment
