The Recipe You’ll receive a 6-week induction and support from our in-house driver training team. You’ll be an early riser—shifts start around 03:30 (some patterns may vary). The upside? Your afternoons are all yours. You’ll enjoy plenty of autonomy. You’ll be given delivery notes (or an electronic device), from which you’ll accurately pick the orders and load your own vehicle with our baked goods—either at the depot or on the move. To help keep your day smooth and safe, knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and transport legislation (Driver Hours, Working Time Directive, Highway Code, etc.) will be key in order to relay faults on defect forms. Once your route for the day is loaded into your onboard computer, you’re off! You’ll deliver to multiple customers daily (they’re like family to us), so top-notch service, strong relationships, and professionalism are a must. This includes being able to manage difficult conversations in a calm manner and acting as an ambassador for our brand. You’ll work a defined rotating 5-day pattern, including weekends. That’s 43 hours a week, though some weeks may be less. All of which will hopefully help you to plan your life around work more easily. At Warburtons, you’re more than a driver. There’s no aimless wandering looking for things. You load your own vehicle, making things that little bit easier to find. You’ll also make sure each delivery is picked accurately and in full from your delivery notes or electronic device.
