Job Description

Would you like to work in a professionally equipped metal workshop, with a senior metal fabrication technician where you could help students make almost anything?

We have a brilliant metal fabrication workshop where we offer: MIG & TIG welding, steel fabrication, sheet work, and light engineering. We also have a small provision for digital fabrication through 3D printing dies and a water jet cutter.

Your ability to expand this digital offer and help us grow our facility and offer of skills is highly desirable. We have a large student demand to support kinetic work and skills in this area are also highly desirable.

How do you imagine inhabiting a role like this? Tell us what you have to offer!

Your profile

You'll be responsible for teaching BA, MA & research students of all abilities studying Art and Design.

You'll help them by creating either individual or group learning activities to meet a wide spectrum of proposals/ideas/projects.

You'll be thinking on your feet to create plans for students to prototype and develop that match their experience, skills, budget and time constraints. You'll be motivated by ideas that are often bizarre and challenging.

You'll also do all of this whilst helping to run a welcoming, safe, and inclusive making environment.
