Contract Opportunity Senior Electrical Engineer β Defence Infrastructure (SC Cleared) Corsham or Oakhanger (Hybrid β typically 2 days/week onsite) Β£71-Β£87 per hour (Umbrella, inside IR35) 24-week contract Must be eligible for SC Security Clearance An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Electrical Engineer to play a key role in the ongoing transformation of a major UK defence communications network. You\βll be supporting critical infrastructure projects related to the UK MOD\βs satellite network, contributing to modernisation and improved reliability of key ground-based systems. This is a fast-paced, high-impact role that will see you working on everything from switchgear upgrades to lightning protection systems within secure, mission-critical environments. Key Responsibilities: Design and deliver electrical infrastructure solutions across secure facilities. Review and specify systems involving switchgear, transformers, cabling, and circuit protection. Provide expert input on compliance with BS7671 (18th Edition) and UK safety legislation. Advise on best practices for EMI reduction, lightning protection, and power distribution. Guide design and delivery teams, ensuring solutions are both compliant and practical. What We\βre Looking For: Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. Proven experience in electrical design within industrial or commercial environments. Understanding of EMI reduction, earthing techniques, and lightning protection. Familiarity with CDM regulations and UK construction health and safety legislation. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead, collaborate, and influence. Chartered Engineer status (or working towards). Knowledge of RIBA stages, BIM modelling, and tools like AutoCAD, SketchUp, Visio. Background in telecoms, datacentre, satellite or defence command/control infrastructure.
