Senior RF Engineer North London Up to £70,0000 + Benefits Monday to Friday – standard office hours Excellent company benefits Our client who is a global defence company based in North London is seeking an experienced Senior RF Engineer to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a highly respected company in the defense industry. The Senior RF Engineer is responsible for significant work packages of RF/Microwave module development, test and support. They support other areas of the business with RF design expertise. This role will be on a permanent basis. Duties: Proactively lead RF equipment development, via internal or sub-contracted work packages. Maintain RF designs – e.g., for Product Improvements or Obsolescence. Oversee derivation of requirements and specifications and their verification & validation. Provide technical support to Supply Chain, Quality, Suppliers and Customers. Support external RF designs and maintain RF Production Tests. Support RF module manufacture – responding to technical issues, undertaking trend analysis and root cause analysis. Ensure that Engineering Procedures are correctly followed, and the quality is maintained through design and manufacture. Generate Estimates, Plans and generally manage small work packages. Ensure adequate documentation is maintained. Any other tasks associated with this role. Requirements PCB Design at microwave frequencies – comfortable with manipulating schematics and defining/reviewing required layout. RF Component selection; knowledge of High Power RF amplifier, Low Noise Amplifiers, Limiters, Circulators, Filters, Mixers and Phase Locked Loop usage. RF System Design (e.g. Cascade Analysis). Familiarity with RF test equipment (e.g. Spectrum Analysers, Vector Network Analysers). Design for test and design for manufacture. Experience of a Production Environment (e.g. good understanding of processes such as SMT). Self-motivated and enjoys working within a team. Good command of written and verbal English.
