About The Role
We are recruiting for a Data Scientist responsible for delivering sophisticated data science solutions while ensuring adherence to governance standards, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
Working closely with business functions to understand their challenges and opportunities, the Data Scientist will apply their curiosity and enthusiasm for data to create solutions supporting member outcomes and the Society\’s strategic plan.
The successful candidate will be recognized as an expert in Data Science, utilizing their knowledge to prepare, model, and engineer data, develop sophisticated models, and present progress and results using compelling data visualizations and storytelling techniques.

About You
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A strong understanding of statistical concepts such as probability theory, regression, or Bayesian statistics
- Experience in writing functional Python programming code
- Experience with Data Wrangling using SQL or Pyspark
- Confidence in exploring data suitability before building machine learning or statistical models
- Experience with statistics and machine learning techniques such as GBM, Random Forests, Ensemble models
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and simply
Desirable Experience
- Experience or knowledge of the financial services sector
