I\’m working with a well established and growing accountancy practice based on the outskirts of Peterborough to recruit their new Accounts Assistant.

About
About the Role You will be responsible for the full range of tax and accountancy compliance work for clients, ensuring all statutory deadlines are met. Your work will include:
- Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and small limited companies
- Completing self-assessment tax returns
- Advising clients on system design to ensure record-keeping meets HMRC standards
- Supporting clients with general accounting and tax-related challenges
No auditing is required for this role.
What We\’re Looking For
- Essential: Experience working in a public practice accountancy office
- Essential: Hands-on experience with sole trader, partnership, and small limited company accounts and self-assessment tax returns
- Preferred: Qualified or part-qualified (not essential if experience is strong)
- Strong attention to detail, ability to manage deadlines, and a commitment to high standards
- Two years in public accountants practice experience as a minimum
Working Arrangement
- Full-time position
- Flexibility available on most aspects of the role, for example some school pick up times.
- On-site only β remote or hybrid work is not offered
