Our client a leading global Insurer are looking to add an Underwriter in their Aviation team in their London Market business.
Their international Aviation Underwriting team provides risk transfer solutions to a varied client base within all facets of the Aviation industry. The London team is responsible for underwriting all major risk globally. They focus on building excellent relationships with their clients and brokers, fostering long-term partnerships underpinned by decades of collective experience and technical knowledge.

What you’ll be doing:
- Underwrite Airline, Aerospace, General Aviation and Aviation War & Hull business in accordance with Underwriting Guidelines and individual authority granted by management.
- Focus on Renewal Retention and New Business production in maintaining and growing a profitable Aviation portfolio.
- Monitors Industry and specific Account trends.
- Implements an Underwriting Service reputation that is recognized as superior in the industry.
- Develop and maintain engagement plans with Brokers as appointed including management of relationships in terms of analysis, meetings and entertainment.
- Provide technical input in Product Development.
- Interact with Brokers and other external parties including third party business providers, including the maintenance and development of good working relationships.
- Contribute towards Underwriting services projects relating to the improvement of existing services.
- Maintain timely and accurate risk, exposure and premium accounting in the company’s policy administration and documentation management systems.
What you’ll bring:
- Proven underwriting experience with Authority. Minimum 5 years of London market experience.
- Prior experience of Underwriting Aviation exposures.
- Able to work independently under your own initiative and as a part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills – articulate and influential.
- Attention to detail with the ability to organise efficiently.
- Problem solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong analytical abilities with excellent logic and critical thinking skills.
