The UK & Ireland Medical Team at Sanofi is a high-performing team of medical leaders who are a trusted source of scientific and Medical information and shared insights. The Established Products (EP) Franchise is a key part of Sanofi\’s General Medicines division. Our mission is to effectively support General Medicines\’ 2030 ambition with world-class management of a mature product portfolio addressing unmet needs in chronic diseases and delivering high profitability while maintaining a strong commitment to patients and corporate social responsibility.

As the Medical Head for Established and Portfolio Products, you will provide comprehensive medical leadership across two distinct but interconnected portfolios: actively promoted established brands in diabetes and cardiovascular that continue to deliver significant value through focused commercial and medical strategies, and legacy portfolio products that require expert medical stewardship, with particular emphasis on products requiring specialised regulatory attention such as valproate.

Main Responsibilities:

Strategic agility

  • Drive medical excellence and innovation for promoted brands to maintain their competitive position and unlock new value opportunities

  • Leverage digital/AI and Hubs capabilities to support medical activities

  • Drive strategic evolution of EP medical strategy to align with market dynamics and team transformation, specifically managing the transition from hero-hub-pureplay to primarily pureplay model while maintaining medical excellence

  • Ensure robust medical governance and lifecycle management for portfolio products, especially those with complex regulatory requirements like valproate

  • Balance resource allocation between actively promoted products and essential legacy brands

  • Provide differentiated medical leadership approaches based on product status while maintaining consistent high standards of patient care and safety

  • Serve as the primary medical expert for both actively promoted established brands and mature portfolio products, providing tailored strategic medical direction for each category

About you

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate level education: MD or equivalent Medical degree or PharmD preferred

  • ‘significant experience in Medical Affairs, ideally with relevant diabetes/endocrinology experience

  • Ability to travel up to 20-30% of the time

  • Thorough understanding of pharmaceutical industry regulations and codes

  • Proven experience in regulatory interactions and risk management programs
