Job Description
Our secondary school in Staffordshire is looking for an experienced Cover Supervisor to support our teaching staff by supervising lessons in the absence of class teachers. This is a full-time, 5‑day‑a‑week role where you will be responsible for ensuring that students complete the work set by absent teachers, while maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude towards students, and a natural ability to manage behaviour in a classroom setting. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain further experience in a secondary school environment or who is passionate about supporting the learning and development of young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising students during lessons in the absence of their regular teachers.
- Ensuring students understand the work set by the absent teacher and remain on task.
- Maintaining a calm, disciplined, and focused classroom environment.
- Supporting students individually or in small groups as needed.
- Managing student behaviour in accordance with school policies and ensuring a positive atmosphere.
