Job Description
Socode are proud to be supporting a long-standing client, who are at the forefront of next-gen energy storage solutions – developing sustainable, high-performance materials with transformative potential for global energy and transportation systems.
What will I be doing?
You’ll play a key role in driving electrochemical research and development – designing experiments, establishing in-house test capabilities, leading test programmes, and helping to translate breakthrough materials into commercially viable devices. This is a hands-on lab-based role with strategic impact, offering scope to shape the future of a ground-breaking energy platform.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading R&D programmes focused on electrochemical testing and performance evaluation of energy storage cells
- Designing and executing experiments to improve cell performance
- Developing and maintaining electrochemical testing processes, including EIS and related techniques
- Supporting safe and efficient lab operations, including equipment maintenance and process ownership
- Collaborating across multidisciplinary teams and contributing to a positive safety culture
- Liaising with suppliers and external stakeholders where appropriate
We’re looking for:
- Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field (PhD OR extensive industry experience)
- 1–2 years’ industry experience
- Knowledge of electrochemical characterisation techniques – especially EIS
- Skilled in electrode modification and evaluation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
