Covering 823 square miles, the park is home to the highest mountain in Wales, the largest natural lake in Wales, and over 26,000 people. We are now looking for a Planning Officer to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week. This will include providing guidance, processing applications and supporting compliance to help conserve and enhance the park's unique landscape. Collaborating with internal teams and external agencies, you will handle pre-application enquiries, assess and process planning applications and ensure cohesive decision-making. You will also prepare reports, draft recommendations and present findings to the Planning and Access Committee. Additionally, you will: – Address breaches of planning control – Contribute to developing our planning strategies and policies – Manage applications for advertisements, lawful use certificates, minor amendments, and discharge of conditions – Respond to public and agent enquiries via phone, email and in person – Represent the Authority at external meetings, assist with appeals, and contribute to Local Development Plan work when required About You To be considered as a Planning Officer, you will need: – The ability to communicate effectively in both Welsh and English – Experience of planning and/or development management – Experience of preparing reports and statements – The ability to read and understand building plans – To be educated to degree level in an appropriate discipline – At least Student membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (support will be given to obtain RTPI membership) – A full, valid driving licence and use of a car The closing date for this role is 17th February 2025.
