About the role

As one of our Customer Delivery Drivers, you’ll be bringing the unique blend of quality Waitrose produce and Partner-led service right to our customers’ doors. Actively playing out our ethos – passionate Partners serving food lovers. When you\’re not out on the road, you\’ll be back at the shop supporting the team with daily tasks like stock replenishment and housekeeping. Contributing to the efficient and productive running of the shop in a friendly and welcoming team.

Due to the nature of the role, you need to be 18 years or older.

Key Responsibilities

  • Starting your day in store and being responsible for checking your delivery routes.
  • Loading and preparing your van for deliveries, ensuring all orders are ready for efficient delivery directly to customers.
  • Completing all vehicle safety checks, maintaining road compliance, health and safety standards.
  • Representing the Waitrose brand on the road with excellent customer service as a priority.
  • Helping customers with their shopping and building rapport based on trust and service.
  • Supporting the shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.

Essential skills/experience

  • Full valid B-Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting crates and moving cages.
  • Ability to work independently, self-motivated and adaptable.
  • IT literate.

Desirable skills/experience

  • Previous driving experience and knowledge of chilled vehicles are advantageous.

Varied part-time hours (15 hours per week) across seven days, including early starts, late finishes, evenings, and weekends.
