Enterprise Risk Management Manager (9-Month FTC)
Role Purpose:
This fixed-term role supports senior leaders in delivering an enterprise risk management (ERM) framework and provides insight into current and emerging risks. It requires collaboration across first-line teams and coordination within the risk function to ensure tools and resilience plans are updated, aligned with good practice, and fully embedded into business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Co-develop and maintain the ERM framework, including policies, board-level risk appetites, and broader strategic components.
- Lead or support scenario testing (SST), including ad hoc stress testing aligned with risk strategy.
- Manage the refresh and development of the Recovery and Resolution Plan, including governance, actions, monitoring, and run-off planning.
- Contribute to the production and embedding of the ORSA (Own Risk and Solvency Assessment) report.
- Act as an advisor and point of oversight for first-line teams regarding the ERM framework.
- Champion emerging risk identification and assessment.
- Assist with regulatory and assurance actions, deep dive risk reviews, and transaction assessments.
- Contribute to risk taxonomy and broader framework improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic risk activities.
Knowledge & Expertise
- Familiarity with regulatory and industry requirements relevant to the role.
- Experience designing and embedding enterprise-wide risk frameworks.
- Knowledge of SST, ORSA processes, and Recovery and Resolution planning.
Experience
- Experience within an ERM function or equivalent second-line risk environment.
- Previous interaction with senior management on enterprise risk matters.
- Direct involvement with UK bulk annuity transactions in a first or second line risk context.
- Background in independent challenge roles such as consulting or audit.
