Maintenance Officer (Part Time)
Cromwell Court Care Home – Cromwell Court, Church St, Warrington WA1 2TH
£.Per Hour
Harbour Healthcare is recruiting for a Maintenance Officer in Warrington. Your role will include ensuring all legal documents are completed, carrying out day-to-day maintenance on the fabric of the building, its services, and grounds to ensure the Care Centre is maintained in a safe and efficient manner. You will also be required to be on call for emergencies.
Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications
Required:
- General maintenance knowledge/experience (e.g., electrical, plumbing, joinery)
- Good communication skills
- Confident team player
- Clean driving license
- Use of a car or similar vehicle
- Willingness to receive training on current Health & Safety / EHO issues
- Satisfactory Police check and check against the POVA List (if applicable)
Desired:
- Understanding of central heating systems, laundry equipment, and hot & cold water systems
- Knowledge of current Health & Safety regulations
Main Responsibilities
General Maintenance:
- Ensure all legal documentation is completed on time.
- Report and action any defects or hazards to the Home Manager.
- Maintain the exterior of the Care Centre, including sheds, gardens, signage, and external lighting.
- Perform decoration touch-ups as needed.
- Test fire alarm systems weekly and log results.
- Keep ventilation units and lights clean; replace defective bulbs/diffusers.
- Test portable appliances and water temperatures as per procedures.
- Maintain a Maintenance Book for recording defects and repairs.
- Assist with deliveries and monitor goods.
Communication:
- Liaise with the Home Manager regarding maintenance work.
- Participate in staff and client meetings as required.
Training & Development:
- Attend mandatory training sessions.
- Maintain professional knowledge and competence.
Health & Safety:
- Use paints and varnishes safely and store them properly.
- Ensure work areas are ventilated and safe.
- Report any illness or accidents immediately.
- Implement the Care Centre’s health and safety policies.
- Promote safe working practices.
