Job Description

Due to the continued success and expansion of MTS and Avonline we have an exciting opportunity for a Civils Supervisor to join our team in the Northwest.

MTS deliver service excellence on a nationwide basis. From the national fibre networks which millions of homes and businesses rely upon every day, to the infrastructure that delivers the latest technology to Multi-Dwelling Units (MDU's) across the UK. Providing installation and maintenance of infrastructure to MDU's across the UK for public sector, social housing, and private landlords, which include the latest technology, FTTP and IRS.

The role & responsibilities:

You will be responsiblefor creating a safe working environment with a zero-harm culture, ensuring teams are trained as appropriate and sufficient governance in place to ensure all health and safety checks are completed within required timescale and quality.

You will:

  • Coordinate resources to ensure delivery of required daily productivity.
  • Support SHEQ in toolbox talks, QA memos, liaise with Morrison Telecom Services & Avonline Networks Quality auditors
  • Responsible to ensure van audits, onsite audits.
  • Monitor the quality performance of works (clegg testing) and adherence to Customer and HAUC Specifications.
  • Subject matter expert for any onsite technical issues.
  • Supervision of onsite engineering teams to avoid FPNs or S74 fines
  • Coordinate all Highway activities with local authorities and back-office staff ensuring appropriate Notices and traffic management are in place.
  • Covering of out of hours (emergency restoration service) rota ~ 1 in 8 weeks

What we need from you.

  • Hold a valid NRSWA full Supervisor Street works card, units 10 to 16.
  • Smart award accreditations NOPS
  • Relevant accreditations required (PIA Desirable)
  • Must hold a full UK driving license for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points on your license
  • Knowledge of the VM02 (green) civils and FTTP / HFC network desirable.
  • Risk assessment and hazard identification and a strong focus on Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental practices: Roads and Street Works Act 1991, Construction Design Management Regulations and Section 74 Regulations.
  • Have experience of working and building relationships with Local Authorities
  • Telecommunication Knowledge especially in underground Civils or Cabling
