Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced CNC Setter/Operator to ensure that our products and services meet all necessary requirements of the business. The Machine Shop Lead Setter/Operator will ensure all current manufacturing procedures are followed and highlight areas which require additional processes. He/she will maintain their manufacturing cell and deliver good quality parts to be assembled on site and pass quality procedures. In this role you will be expected to run multiple machines in a single piece flow environment of lathes and milling equipment.
Responsibilities
Manufacturing Pump components in a CNC cell which includes both CNC Milling & CNC Turning Machines.
This role will be setting/operating CNC lathes and CNC Milling in a one-piece flow environment. Training will be provided to the successful candidate on Fanuc operating systems. Be able to use/set 5 axis machines lathes/3+2 milling machine.
- Ability to accurately measure manufactured parts using conventional inspection equipment (Plug Gauges, Bore Micrometres, Outside Micrometres callipers etc.)
- Adjusting Machine offsets when required after replacing worn inserts or broken tooling.
- Machining both Castings and Bar Stock.
- Working to Tolerances of .01mm
- Machining large or small batches depending on sold demand.
- Maintaining safe operations by always adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintaining equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
- Advising the Manufacturing Engineer of any Machine or Health & Safety items which need attention
Basic Qualifications
- Time served recognized apprenticeship completed, or relevant experience.
- Worked in a demanding manufacturing environment.
- Ability to program in Fanuc desirable but not essential.
- Ability to measure using micrometres, plug gauges etc.
- Ability to measure using CMM an advantage but not essential.
- Ability to read engineering drawings in metric and imperial.
