Position
We’re seeking an operations-focused, results-driven AI leader to spearhead the intelligent transformation of our global operations. At GUS, we are investing heavily in AI and automation, building a high-performance team to reinvent how we work, from admissions and finance, to student support and academic delivery. This role offers a rare greenfield opportunity to shape and deliver an enterprise-wide AI and automation strategy that streamlines operations and empowers our teams worldwide. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Vision & Leadership
·Co-develop and deliver GUS’s AI and automation strategy with a focus on operational scalability and business performance.
·Identify high-impact opportunities to embed AI and automation across GUS’s business operations.
·Report to the Chief AI Officer with regular updates on KPIs, impact metrics, and transformation progress.
·Align automation strategy with executive priorities and global operational needs.
Operational Automation & Infrastructure
·Lead implementation of AI, RPA, and workflow tools across business functions.
·Collaborate with senior colleagues on enterprise architecture and systems integration.
·Oversee MLOps pipelines, platform performance, and intelligent tooling rollout.
·Establish standards for data management, governance, privacy, and compliance.
·Partner with HR, finance, admissions, and academic departments to improve workflow automation and productivity.
·Support pilots and iterative deployments, scaling successful initiatives across regions.
·Ensure smooth integration of intelligent solutions into daily operations.
·Measure efficiency gains, time savings, and operational ROI.
Team Building & Culture
·Build and lead a cross-functional team of automation engineers, systems analysts, and AI product managers.
·Promote a culture of speed, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
·Collaborate with global EdTech and AI partners to remain on the cutting edge of AI operations.
Requirements
You are a systems thinker and builder with a passion for intelligent automation. You bring technical expertise, business acumen, and the leadership skills to drive change at scale.
You’ll thrive in this role if you have:
·Are an outstanding leader who has experience of building things from the ground up.
·Experience deploying RPA, workflow automation, or enterprise AI in complex organisations.
·Strong understanding of operational systems and business process redesign.
·Technical fluency in GenAI, LLMs, ML infrastructure, and data privacy standards.
·Ability to collaborate across functional teams and manage multiple senior stakeholders.
·Proven ability to deliver measurable improvements in speed, quality, or cost.
·A passion for education, global transformation, and inclusive innovation.
·A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
