The Energy unit provides integrated engineering and project management services across the project lifecycle – from concept and design to construction, operation, decommissioning, repowering, and life extension.

About the Role

Senior Structural Engineer – responsible for Civil and Structural design across power generation and HV transmission projects, including power plants, HV substation/HVDC interconnector converter stations, and HV cable projects. The role offers a diverse portfolio of work and opportunities for advancement within the team.

Requirements

  • Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of structural engineering principles, load‑bearing capacity, material properties, and design codes (e.g., Eurocodes, ASCE).
  • Proficiency in Structural Analysis Software (SAP2000, ETABS, or similar).
  • Experience with Building Information Modelling (BIM) technologies.
  • Project Leadership – independent management of structural engineering projects, overseeing timelines, budgets, and quality.
  • Proposal Writing and Cost Estimation – accurate and persuasive proposals.
  • Lead FEED activities related to structural components.
  • Design Coordination – liaison with architects, electrical engineers, and other disciplines.
  • Conflict Resolution – effective resolution of design conflicts within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Attention to Detail – creating detailed drawings for planning applications and tender packages.
  • Structural Assessment – evaluating existing structures for suitability and safety.
  • Clear Communication – excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Leadership Mindset – guidance of junior engineers and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Relevant experience in structural engineering; energy project experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License – not mandatory but advantageous.
