We are looking for a team of personal assistants to assist a 25-year-old male who uses a wheelchair. The client also has cerebral palsy and epilepsy. The successful client will receive specialised training to support the clients’ needs also. As part of this role a successful applicant will be cooking, cleaning, supporting with personal care, delivering medication and other tasks to support the client.
To begin with one of the key parts of this role will be taking the client out and about. Currently there are no set times or days to do this, but the client will give 2 or 3 days’ notice. These trips out and about will be to activities and places locally at first but as the team grows this could be for caravan trips and other getaways.
When the full team is in place a proper schedule will be in place. This will extend to provide support in the clients home also.
Applicants must have a caring attitude, have a good sense of humour, be reliable with a positive and flexible approach to work. Having experience with moving and handling training with hoist and epilepsy training would be beneficial, although successful applicants can be trained in this at a later date.
Drivers with clean licenses only please as client has a mobility vehicle that will be used for trips.
This role requires an enhanced check through PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups).
