We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Lead to join our team at Royal London. As a Technical Lead, you will play a crucial role in managing the design, development, testing, and smooth operation of our applications.
You will deliver development and test services to our business. Responsibilities include tool selection, vendor management, and shaping the technical roadmap for one or more Royal London applications to ensure continuous improvement in availability, currency, and cost-effectiveness. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background and a passion for problem-solving, eager to contribute to our organisation\’s growth and success.
This position involves working within our pensions applications teams, delivering scalable solutions to both customers and employees, and collaborating with stakeholders across the group.

About the role
- Provide problem management and incident resolution (production support) for the platform.
- Build trusting relationships with key stakeholders and internal customers.
- Offer expertise on methods and tools needed for change delivery through the platform.
- Ensure technical upgrades and maintenance are scheduled, working closely with third-party vendors.
- Manage team performance against key deliverables and ensure quality standards are met.
- Oversee third-party vendor performance against contractual obligations and SLAs, and identify opportunities for platform improvements.
- Contribute to financial planning and portfolio activities, including recruitment of permanent and flexible resources.

- Broad knowledge of IT, with expertise in application development techniques and best practices.
- Experience managing technical teams and workloads.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure.
