Totum Partners is partnering with a leading City law firm to recruit a Revenue Controller. This hybrid role offers 3 days in the office and 2 days of remote working. In this role, you’ll manage WIP, billing, and credit control, taking full responsibility for the 360° revenue cycle of a designated group of Partners and fee earners. It’s a great opportunity to have complete oversight of revenue management and contribute directly to your team’s financial success.
The ideal Revenue Controller will be responsible for:
- Managing billing, WIP and debt for a group of Partners and their teams.
- Regular meetings with Partners to review WIP and debtors, agree actions and follow up.
- Processing bills using Elite 3E and updating credit control activity.
- Reviewing bank statements, allocating funds and arranging client transfers.
- Handling client queries around invoices and supporting fee earners with follow-up.
- Preparing regular debt reports and tracking payments to ensure SRA compliance.
- Liaising with stakeholders to keep billing and collection on target.
- Helping reduce lock-up and ensure internal processes are followed.
- Responding to finance requests from shared inboxes promptly.
- Supporting month/year-end billing cycles and maintaining accurate charge-out rates.
- Running and amending proformas, managing approvals and reassigning where needed.
The ideal Revenue Controller will be responsible for :
- Previous experience in a law firm – essential
- Strong billing and WIP experience – essential
- Credit control experience is a plus, but training will be provided
- Confident working with Partners and senior stakeholders
- Strong client service and stakeholder communication
- Accurate with numbers and reconciliations
- Organised, detail-focused, and proactive
- Comfortable using Elite 3E and Excel
- Clear communicator, both written and verbal
- Calm under pressure with a problem-solving approach
