Our client, a leading international centre of excellence in furniture testing and innovation, is currently seeking a Furniture Technician to join their expert team in Kettering on a part-time basis.
They work with top-tier suppliers, manufacturers, and retailers to ensure furniture products meet British, European, and international standards. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a respected organisation that sets the benchmark for quality and safety in the furniture industry.
- Role Overview
As a Furniture Technician, you\’ll play a key role in supporting testing operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and conditioning furniture samples for testing
- Assisting in physical testing of items such as mattresses, tables, cabinets, and seating
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation in laboratory areas
- Coordinating testing schedules with clients and the Head of Furniture
- Accurately completing and maintaining training records
What We\’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- GCSEs in Maths, English & Science (Grade C / Grade 5 or above)
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive, flexible, and proactive attitude
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience in the furniture industry
- Familiarity with consumer product testing
- Forklift truck experience
