The DMC team integrates Digital Marketing, Media, Retail Media, e-Commerce and Shopper Marketing, seeking to bring the best consumer experiences for our brands in Home Care. JOB PURPOSE
The Holistic Media Manager leads the media strategy for Traditional, Digital and Retail Media for our 5 brands: Persil, Cif, Domestos, Comfort and Surf. You will represent the best of the media landscape in the UK and be motivated by the ever-growing digital and retail media opportunities with a large budget to influence. The role involves developing strategy, optimising and managing campaigns, and driving performance through data-driven decisions.
This is a key role in the DMC team and you will work closely with the DMC, brand teams and agency/media partners to ensure success. You will manage someone who will help you execute.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Media Strategy Ownership:
- Develop the holistic media strategy covering traditional, digital and retail media
- Seek continual improvements to help grow the media strategy alongside the company’s ambition for social-first
- Oversee media usage of data and driven data partnerships
Retail Media Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement comprehensive Retail Media strategies across Omnichannel and pureplay retailers for Unilever Homecare brands
Data-Driven Insights:
- Retain learnings from all campaign performance and long-term ROI studies and internal brand and sales performance, providing actionable insights and pushing for continual improvement
- Responsible for partnering with internal CMI teams AND Media owners to set up campaign measurement including BLS/SLS/MMM
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with internal DMC, Retail, Marketing, and brand teams for strategic alignment and present key results back to senior stakeholders
- Manage relationships with Unilever’s external media agency and retail account teams
- Manage the relationship with external Media owners as part of the Central Media team and ensure the latest platform trends and capabilities are shared back to the business
Innovation and Testing:
- Be the expert on Media, Staying on top of Media trends and pilot new ad formats
- Develop strategies for key retail events (e.g., Prime Day, Black Friday)
Budget Management:
- Manage media budgets between agency and brand team, actioning any changes
- Responsible for the management and allocation of Retail Media budgets across Omnichannel and Pureplay customers for Always-On, Event, and Innovation campaigns
- Report ROI and performance metrics to the business

- Proven expertise in developing holistic media strategies encompassing traditional, digital, and retail media
- Experience in managing Media Campaigns and optimising performance
- Ability to provide actionable insights and drive continual improvement based on internal brand and sales performance data
- In-depth knowledge and passion for Media trends and emerging capabilities
- Proficiency with Amazon Media tools and platforms (e.g., Pacvue, AMC)
- Strong analytical skills with a proven track record in data-driven decision-making
- Exceptional communication and relationship building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Preferred experience in managing agency relationships
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop effective briefs for both internal and external teams
- Flexible pro-active mindset to work with multiple brands, priorities and stakeholders
- Strong business acumen and commercial awareness, with the ability to identify new opportunities and drive revenue growth
