ROLE OVERVIEW A leading company in the research and development sector is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to join their team based in Cheshire. This role offers the chance to be part of a dynamic environment where you will support scientists in the day-to-day running of a research laboratory. The position is ideal for an organised self-starter who is eager to contribute to the development of new procedures and ensure the smooth operation of the laboratory. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Your duties as the Laboratory Technician will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows: 1. General laboratory housekeeping, including cleaning, freezer maintenance, and maintaining laboratory glassware. Ensure the working area is kept orderly and necessary consumables are available. 2. Daily collection and disposal of waste from labs, ensuring proper disposal of hazardous and biological waste. 3. Preparation of standard analytical solutions, buffers, and media used by scientists within the laboratories. 4. Monitoring and reporting equipment issues to the Facilities Manager to arrange repair and maintenance. Complete and document maintenance activities. ROLE REQUIREMENTS: To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Laboratory Technician we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history: 1. Qualification at BSc/ MSc level in a relevant biological science subject. 2. Proven industry experience in a laboratory setting. 3. A working knowledge and practical experience with laboratory housekeeping, waste disposal, and preparation of analytical solutions.
