General Farm Worker (Dairy Farm) Employed/Self Employed position – Salary dependent on experience + Accommodation is available Full-time to include alternate weekend shifts – we operate a weekend of working every other weekend, with one day off during the week (which would be open to negotiation). Based near Whitby, North Yorkshire Our Farm Shortwaite Farm are a family-run dairy farm, who have been milking and caring for dairy cows at the same farm for over 95 years. The dairy herd consists of 220 milking cows plus replacement heifers. We milk twice a day through a 20:40 herringbone parlour. The herd is autumn-block calving. All stock is grazed in the summer and calves are reared during winter. Our milk is supplied to First Milk, and we are part of their regenerative farming programme. We take pride in the health of our herd. This has been recognised by the industry when we were runner-up in the 2019 Semex Healthy Herd competition. We are now looking for a General Farm Worker to join our dairy farm near Lealholm, Whitby. As a General Farm Worker you will assist with the day-to-day running of the dairy unit. We are looking for a versatile person who can work in different roles as required, preferably with experience of milking cows and operating tractors and machinery.
