Are you an experienced Chartered Surveyor looking for your next contract in the public sector? We are working with a forward-thinking local authority in Yorkshire seeking a Senior Estates Surveyor to join their property team on an interim basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice on complex Landlord and Tenant matters, including lease renewals, rent reviews, and lease restructures.
- Lead on property acquisitions and disposals, ensuring value for money and strategic alignment with the council’s objectives.
- Manage a diverse property portfolio across commercial, operational, and community assets.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external consultants to deliver professional property solutions.
- Ensure all property transactions and decisions comply with statutory and local governance frameworks.
Requirements:
- MRICS (Chartered Surveyor) – essential.
- Proven experience in general practice surveying, particularly within local government or the wider public sector.
- Strong knowledge of property law, asset management, and local authority frameworks.
- Ability to manage a varied workload with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
