Sweeney Merrigan Law is growing, and we’re looking for a versatile Medical Records Coordinator to handle administrative, client-facing, and interpersonal duties.

To succeed as a Medical Records Coordinator, you must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.
Medical Records Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Request, collect, organize, and maintain client medical records in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Track outstanding medical record requests and follow up with providers.
- Retrieve and file medical records promptly to support legal case preparation.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all client medical information.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and medical providers to obtain necessary documentation.
- Stay informed about healthcare regulations and ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in health information management or related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in medical records management, preferably in legal or healthcare settings.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare documentation practices.
- Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Fluent, proficient in spoken and written English (non-negotiable).
- Access to 2 forms of power and 2 forms of internet at all times.
- Proven integrity and discretion handling confidential data, HIPAA compliance.
- Proactive follow-up skills and ability to prioritize independently.
- Capacity to manage 50-75 active client cases, tracking updates and coordinating with legal staff.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.
- Team-oriented, teachable, and proactive mindset; people-smart and supportive.
- Legal experience and familiarity with legal terminology is a plus.
