SEND Tutor (Secondary) – Saxmundham

Salary: £25 – £35 / Hour

Ackerman Pierce works closely with County Councils and Schools to provide one-to-one tutoring for children waiting for school placements. The children we support have a range of complex needs, and we are seeking experienced SEN / HLTA / tutors / teachers.

We are currently recruiting Secondary Tutors to provide face-to-face support to SEND Students based in Saxmundham.

  • Location: Saxmundham
  • Position: 1:1 Tutor
  • Start date: September 2024
  • End date: Ongoing
  • Contract type: Temporary
  • Hours: 15 hours per week during school hours
  • Rate of pay: £25 – £35 per hour

We are looking for candidates who are:

  • Available during school hours, up to 30 hours per week
  • Experienced in delivering differentiated National Curriculum core subjects
  • Experienced in teaching young people with complex needs including SEMH, ASC, MLD, SpLD
  • Exceptional in behaviour management strategies
  • Prepared to work face-to-face within the community

Requirements

  • Background in teaching English, Maths, Science, or SEN classes from KS1 to KS5
  • QTS status (or equivalent) or unqualified with two years\’ experience teaching NC core subjects
  • Experience working with ASD, EBD, SEMH, and complex needs
  • At least 2 years\’ experience working within a UK school
