Job Title: Workday Product Owner (HR & Finance)

As part of this transformation, we are seeking a Workday Product Owner to lead and manage the ongoing development of our HR and Finance systems.
Role Overview
As the Workday Product Owner, you will be responsible for maximising the value of our Workday platform across HR and Finance functions. Acting as the voice of the business within cross-functional delivery teams, you’ll own the product backlog, align stakeholders, and lead the delivery of continuous improvements. This role is critical to ensuring our systems support the strategic needs of a modern legal practice.
Key Responsibilities
Product Ownership & Strategy
- Define and manage the Workday product roadmap for HR and Finance modules.
- Maintain and prioritise a product backlog based on business needs and system performance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between business users and technical teams.
Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with HR, Finance, IT, and external partners to gather and refine requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear user stories with defined acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate workshops, sprint planning, and regular reviews to ensure alignment.
System Delivery & Governance
- Oversee configuration, deployment, testing, and release management within Workday.
- Ensure data quality, system integrity, and compliance with internal governance frameworks.
- Support and lead major upgrade cycles, change initiatives, and integration projects.
User Experience & Support
- Drive adoption of Workday features and capabilities across the firm.
- Provide training, documentation, and guidance to key users and stakeholders.
- Monitor feedback and KPIs to inform continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements
Experience & Skills
- Proven experience as a Product Owner, Workday Lead, or Business Analyst within a Workday HR and/or Finance environment.
- Strong knowledge of Workday modules including Core HCM, Time Tracking, Absence, Payroll, and Financial Management.
- Background in professional services or legal sector highly desirable.
- Skilled in agile delivery methods, backlog management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Information Systems, or related field.
- Workday certifications or formal Workday training (preferred).
